Exciting Invitation to Join the City of Cincinnati for a New Event

February 21st Lecture at the Krohn Conservatory on “RiverFlora 2014”
A Unique Invitation for AF Members

RiverFlora 2014, a new Horticultural Exposition, is coming to Cincinnati Parks!  The new spring exhibition will be located along the banks of the Ohio River where Cincinnati has its historical roots of growth and prosperity.  The entire waterfront area – from T. M. Berry International Friendship Park in the east to Smale Riverfront Park at the west – will offer displays including demonstration gardens and art installations of natural elements. The site will be walkable, but a system of bicycle cabs and/or small shuttles will be made available to visitors.  The Cincinnati Park Board is reaching out to the International Community.  Many areas of the exposition will feature various cultures. Alliance Française will participate in a Café des Canotiers based upon Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s oil painting entitled Luncheon of the Boating Party as well as a landscaped floating International Barge. RiverFlora 2014 will be internationally linked to all 8 Cincinnati Sister Cities.

Gérald R. Checco, Superintendent Operations, Beautification, Environment & International Affairs of the Cincinnati Park Board, will present a lecture on RiverFlora 2014 February 21st at 7:30pm at the Krohn Conservatory in Eden Park. The lecture is open to Alliance Française members and their guests at no charge.
