Join us for Pétanque

Pétanque comes from the Provençal “joint feet” pé = pied, and tanque = stuck together. Culturally it is also part of the Provençal culture together with the “manille” a card game and Ricard or Pastis, the French equivalent of Greek Ouzo.

Pétanque is an activity that requires few calories waste, allows frequent re-hydration (Ricard, Rosé, as Provence climate is hot and dry) and also, most of all is an opportunity to argue (which “Provencaux” love to do) about the respective distance of the balls to the jack.

Now that you know, why don’t you join in the fun!
