Join AF members and friends at a most interesting presentation by Wes Duren of Marvin’s Organic Gardens and Jeanne Nightingale, a French interpreter, who went on a mission trip to help re-invigorate Congolese agriculture.

Although the Congo is rich in natural resources and has one of the deepest aquifers on the planet, due to generations of unsustainable agricultural practices imported from the West plus recent drought, famine and tribal conflict, its ecosystem has become fragile. The goal of their holistic mission to Gungu Province in the DRC was to integrate local earth wisdom with modern organic innovations to create a new synergy, re-invigorate Congolese agriculture, and make the land productive in a sustainable way.

Is it possible that the Congo will reach its potential to become a major breadbasket for Africa? Join the AF Cincinnati on June 19 to find out.
